I wrote a guest blog for Christian Volume. http://christianvolume.com/author/ryantomlinson/ I was truly touched by Ryan’s Blog posting “I Bought My First Pack of Cigarettes, I Feel Great!” http://christianvolume.com/author/ryantomlinson/ Ryan and his wife were getting gas. They came upon a man sitting on the curb looking cold and alone. Ryan went over and asked if he could buy the man some coffee. The man replied “I have had enough coffee to sink a battle ship but I am very hungry.” He laughed and offered to buy the man a hotdog. The man said; “Yes and could I ask for one more favor?” Ryan said “Of course.” The man said, “Could I have a Cigarette?” Ryan is a Worship Leader and doesn’t smoke. I love his answer. “What do you smoke and I’ll buy you a pack!” Ryan went into the store and bought a Hot dog and his first purchase of pack of cigarettes ever in his life. How many times do we miss the opportunity to be of service to someone because of our own personal judgment?
I believe that God is creating a specialized learning program for each of us. The plans are customized and not one of us really knows what others are going through even though we may have some idea. Some of these experiences are at such a polar opposite spectrum from ours that we have no earthly idea what they are going through. Our lack of understanding and knowledge do not change the fact that we are all connected. God is living in each and every single one of us. He has created an energy exchange program that is unlike any other. The people who come into our scope or view are little pieces of God. Help may be needed, a hot dog, cigarettes, a kind word of encouragement. God is moving us and speaking to us all in unusual ways. We get to choose to be receptive to His voice or not. Our actions, deeds and movements are what set our souls in motion. When we ignore the fact that God is everywhere and in everyone, (even if they don’t recognize it) then we miss opportunities to turn on our God magnets. These deeds create energy paths to allow God to bless and heal us. Matthew 25:40 “Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even to the least of them, you did it to Me.” How many times do we ignore the opportunity to magnetize our lives?
The ocean’s tide is affected by the gravitational magnetic forces of the moon and the sun. The tide brings in and takes out the water in the ocean. It also transports little gifts of shells, fish and sometimes other things. I believe God works in much the same way in our lives. He is bringing waves of opportunities to allow us to be of service. This increases our magnetic pull. He also moves the tide out leaving small and large gifts in his wake. All we have to do is be open and willing to move with his plan. I love Ryan’s story and his willingness to be open and receptive to help someone in need. He is willing to shine his light and the courage to talk about it. Thank You, Ryan.
