When I was six years old I nearly died when I had the measles. During my near death I was shown a vision of God. There was a beautiful silvery blue light that was pulsing and very much alive. It was beaming on everything. There were silvery blue strands that were connecting souls to the light. God was pulsing through everyone. The souls closer to the light were brighter and the ones further away were dimmer. The brighter souls were using the power of their light to strengthen the light in the souls behind them. We were all connected to God. He was the source of our light. His power was surging through all of us and shinning on everything.
This experience made me realize that God is everywhere and in all of us. I see gratitude, appreciation and praise as a form of prayer. I am not only thanking and praising the person who is helping me; I am thanking God that is shining in them. When I give an honest complement or praise I am sending that message through all channels. I am appreciating and being grateful to God who gave the great shoes or cute hair as well as the person who is shining in them. His light is beaming everywhere. I am thankful for creativity of the person who chose those things and the light in them that gives the brilliant inspiration. I find this form of prayer to be a very effective prosperity tool because I see God everywhere. The more I can stay in appreciation and gratitude the more of God I see and the bigger my blessings become. Sometimes this is a challenge.
Several years ago I was going out of the country on business for a few weeks. I needed to have some car repairs done so I dropped my car off to be fixed while I was away. When I got home the car was not finished. The mechanic said, “I couldn’t get your car fixed. I have been very busy.” I asked, “When WILL my car be ready?” He said the best he could do was at least in two weeks because he was so busy. I was upset and frustrated. He told me he would get to me when he could in a not very nice manner. I was angry because I was going to have to rent a car. I didn’t say anything but I was seething inside. Then I made a choice to let it go. I decided to be thankful that my car was being seen by a well sought after professional who was very, very busy. I took a deep breath to release my anger and said, “I appreciate you. I know you are doing your best. When you are doing your very best, you can’t do better than that. I can’t ask for anything else. Call me when it is ready.” I left.
I had major jet lag. I made a choice to wait a day or two before renting the car. It was good to take a few days off and rest. Two days later he called and my car was ready. I was shocked! He moved me up to the front of the line. He told me he was sorry for being short with me. He also said, “I really thought you were getting ready to lay into me, and instead you were nice. I’m sorry; I was just frustrated because I was so far behind.” I had some time to rest and my appreciation opened the door to my mechanics heart to help me out. Everything worked out for my highest good in the perfect time. I believe if I “laid” into him I may have waited two weeks or more.
A few months later my mechanic called me and asked me to come by his shop. He had a gift for me. He had been hunting and had a big hunk of deer meat. I had it turned into barbeque. My freezer was full of meat. I was being blessed and fed all because of a little appreciation.
There are challenges in life. Finding the things to praise, appreciate, and be grateful about can be difficult especially when things are not going as planned. I know I can find it very hard and I don’t always succeed, but when I do recognize God with gratitude the rewards appreciate in value.
I want ask you to join me in a challenge. This is a 30 day appreciation pursuit I am calling it #AppreciateX30. Let’s try to see God’s light everywhere even in the difficult places. Show praise and be in a state of gratitude for the next 30 days and let’s watch the blessings apprize. When we see divinity everywhere and praise it while being grateful I know we truly will be blessed times thirty. Sign up for the challenge and receive daily encouragement to help you through this quest. I am truly thankful for all of you as we embark on this social event together!
